Major Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in providing protection systems and applying sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets attacked the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and three other people were injured.

The attacks follow periods of air raids in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

He said utility staff and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
